The short answer

These are the two big names in app-connected trainers, and they take different approaches. Perifit Care+ turns training into games, uses extra sensors and position detection to flag incorrect contractions, and never needs charging. Elvie measures force directly, uses tilt detection to spot bearing down, and has a sleeker, more grown-up app with six exercise types.

The practical differences favour Perifit. It has much stronger owner ratings (4.6 against 3.7 on Amazon UK), a 100-day trial when bought direct against Elvie's no-returns-once-opened policy, and a smaller probe. Elvie recharges, which some will prefer, and it's often discounted to a similar price.

My call: Perifit Care+ for most people. Choose Elvie only if you love the design and you're confident you'll stick with it.
