The short answer

Both machines do the scooping for you, and the difference that matters in the UK is water temperature. The NHS advises making up powdered formula with water at 70C or above, because the powder isn't sterile. The Perfect Prep Pro doses powder from a 400g tank, then adds a hot shot that Tommee Tippee says is always at least 70C, followed by cool filtered water. Baby Brezza states the Formula Pro Advanced doesn't make up formula with 70C water: it uses cooled, boiled water, so nothing in the process kills bacteria in the powder.

The Brezza has real strengths. It offers 60 to 300ml in 30ml steps, where the Pro can't make feeds smaller than 4oz, and there are no filters to buy. Neither is low-maintenance: the Brezza's funnel needs cleaning every four bottles and its tank water changing daily, while the Pro's powder tank needs washing, sterilising and drying, plus a cleaning cycle every 30 days and filter changes.

My call: the Perfect Prep Pro, comfortably. It keeps the 70C step and costs around £55 less. Independent home research suggested machines like this often read lower than claimed, so a quick check with a thermometer is sensible.
