The full review
The Perfect Prep Pro, launched in July 2025, takes on the one job the standard machine leaves to you: measuring the powder. A removable tank holds roughly 400g of formula, integrated scales weigh each dose, and separate spouts for powder and water are meant to stop clumping. Tommee Tippee claims it's up to ten times more accurate than hand scooping.
Set-up is more involved. You calibrate each feed size by scooping one bottle by hand to your formula's instructions and letting the machine store the weight, and Tommee Tippee's support page says first-time set-up takes around 16 minutes. The company says it's designed to work with all major powdered formula brands.
The hot shot and filter are the same system as the standard PerfectPrep, so the same safety caveat applies: Tommee Tippee says the shot is always at least 70C, independent home research suggested machines often read lower, and a quick thermometer check is sensible. HuffPost UK's first-time-dad tester found it easy once he'd learned to swirl rather than shake the bottle, which avoids clumps.
The price of that convenience is more cleaning. The powder tank needs washing, sterilising and drying before use and whenever the machine prompts, and Tommee Tippee advises a cleaning cycle every 30 days on top of filter changes and descaling. John Lewis customers rate it highly, at 4.6 out of 5 across around 240 reviews at the time of writing.
