The full review
This is the 10-inch version of the same idea: the 2023 Fire HD 10 in a Kid-Proof Case, with a year of Amazon Kids+ and the two-year worry-free guarantee, aimed at three to seven-year-olds.
The big difference is the screen: 10.1 inches at 1920 x 1200, which makes films and video calls noticeably better. You also get an octa-core 2.0GHz processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (expandable to 1TB), 5MP cameras front and back, and up to 13 hours of battery. The Independent picked it as its best tablet for pre-schoolers, and it kept the tester's pre-schooler entertained on a five-hour flight.
The parental controls are the same excellent set as on the 8-inch model. The downsides are weight and age: John Lewis lists it at 674g, which is a lot for a three-year-old to hold, and the hardware dates from 2023.
