The full review
The Motion InBra is Medela's fully in-bra pump, launched in Europe in October 2025. Each pump holds its own motor and a 150ml container, weighs 250g and, according to Medela, runs for up to 2.5 hours, or about 10 sessions, per charge. It uses Medela's 2-Phase Expression rhythm, a 105-degree breast shield and suction of up to 300mmHg across nine levels.
What stands out on paper is how little faff there is. There are three parts to clean per pump, they're dishwasher safe, and there's no pairing or app required. The box includes a 24mm shield plus 15mm, 18mm and 21mm inserts, which suits far more people than the old one-size-fits-all approach.
Independent feedback is strong. Mumsnet named it the best wearable breast pump in its latest testing, praising the quiet motor and intuitive controls. The niggles are minor but real: its tester found the battery drains if you leave the pump unused, the thin plastic parts need care, and replacement shields are an extra cost.
Medela claims its 105-degree shield increases milk expression by 11.8% compared with traditional designs. That's the maker's own figure, so I'd treat it as encouraging rather than proof, and like every wearable it's unlikely to match a good double electric for speed.
